  1. Probably a troll. However, I’ve been hospitalized before for a painful GI problem. Morphine did not help at all; demerol did. Interestingly, my late mother was the same way. Neither my mom or I are trolls. I am a nurse.

    1. I have Collagenous Colitis and Demerol usually works better than Morphine on that pain.

    2. Demerol is rarely used anymore. It is Dilaudid. Nurses (who are currently working) would know that.

  2. In our hospital, we use Demerol sparingly. Dilaudid is the drug they’re probably referring to. We usually offer Dilaudid, Fentanyl, Morphine or Toradol. They make us money, the others don’t, including percocet/oxycodone.
